Holding on to you
For a little while
While the world goes on
But for a little while
Whoever you are
Whatever it is
Someday I will have to let you go
Due to death of you or me
Due to hardships now unforeseen
Maybe for your best interests
Or maybe for mine
Or unresolved differences
Whatever it is
Whoever you are
Because God has decreed it so
But for a little while
We can share a bit of one another
While the world goes on
For a little while
Holding on to you
